Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet vulnerable characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of the present. As a teenager, she spent her summers in the home of her father and gaining an interest in the theater. After studying at Brown University for a while before transferring to Juilliard School to study acting. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared on film in just two years and on television in the year after. She has been featured on a number of stages, films and television programs since. In her long career, she's won several awards. Some of them includes the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. However, in spite of all the awards she has received the theatre is still her first love and she is still appearing in stage and screen.
